Pilot lands in field after engine fails

A PRIVATE aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing yesterday in fields outside Kilsyth.

The light aircraft, a Grumman AA5, had just taken off from Cumbernauld with two qualified pilots when it suffered engine failure at 1,000ft. Emergency services were on hand as they landed the four-seater plane, but both men walked away unhurt.
