Mr Ritchie, who has 352 free-range turkeys, said they responded well to being herded by a dog.

Although sheep are the most common animals rounded up by Border collies, they have been known to herd ducks, pigs and ponies. There is also footage of a sheepdog rounding up tigers at a South African park.

Border collies are considered to be the most intelligent breed of dog, closely followed by poodles and German shepherds.
