Pianist keyed up for tribute

AN international pianist is to perform in the Capital as part of a tribute to the legendary Polish composer Frederic Chopin.

Dominika Eska, from Krakow, is travelling to Scotland to play three concerts to mark the 200th anniversary of Chopin, who is regarded as a national hero in Poland.

She will play at St Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral on August 9, before performing at the new World Cafe at St John's Church as part of the Edinburgh Festival of Spirituality and Peace on August 10 and 12.

The performances will also feature soloist Barbara Misiewicz, who has previously played for the Queen.

The concerts form part of the Chopin 2010 programme of events across Scotland.
