Photographer injured in shooting during riot

A PRESS photographer was injured in a shooting as rioting erupted for a second night in Northern Ireland.

The Press Association photographer, who was covering the violence around the Short Strand area of east Belfast, suffered an injury to the leg and was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Man held over hit-and-run

A MAN was being questioned today after six-year-old Owen Wightman was knocked down and killed by a motorist in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, on Saturday.

West Yorkshire Police yesterday arrested a 21-year-old from Huddersfield on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Teen hacking suspect faces extradition to US

A TEEANGER suspected of masterminding a global computer hacking plot from his bedroom could now face a fight against extradition to the US.

Ryan Cleary was arrested at his detached family home in Essex yesterday as part of a Scotland Yard and FBI probe into LulzSec, a group claiming responsibility for hacking attempts on the UK's Serious Organised Crime Agency, the US Senate and the CIA. He remained in custody today, police said.

Reebok claims censured

Sportswear firm Reebok has been censured for claiming its clothing can increase oxygen levels.

The company claimed its ZigTech Apparel, "engineered with Celliant fibres", increased oxygen levels by an average seven per cent by reflecting infrared light back into the body and allowing capillaries to relax. But the Advertising Standards Authority said the claims are not supported by evidence.

Freedom of London for Dench

Oscar winner Dame Judi Dench has collected another gong - the Freedom of the City of London.

The star said she was "very honoured" to accept the accolade.

She said: "Moreover, I look forward to being able to drive my sheep over London Bridge."
