Pharmacist is honoured

A PHARMACIST who has run a service for diabetes patients for the past six years has been recognised for her work.

Alison Cockburn was crowned as the Hospital Pharmacist of the Year at a ceremony run by an industry magazine.

The NHS Lothian employee runs a diabetes cardiovascular risk reduction service, which was described by health chiefs as "pioneering".

She said: "It's great to get recognition for implementing this service."
