Performers to strut stuff on Karl’s catwalk

A CATWALK built for Chanel’s fashion show at Linlithgow Palace is to be used as a stage in a town talent contest.

The structure, which featured in the Metiers d’Art show, will be used by local performers at the end of the month.

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld used the wooden runway to showcase his own Scottish-inspired clothing at the
£2 million show in December. Hundreds of guests attended the exclusive event, including Bryan Ferry’s son Otis and model Poppy Delevigne.

Historic Scotland is now working with town representatives to plan the talent show using Chanel’s catwalk to give performers the opportunity to showcase their own creativity in fashion, drama and music.

It is hoped that the structure, which will act as the stage, will demonstrate to the community the wealth of talent that exists in Linlithgow.

After the show it will be removed and recycled.
