Pentland hills win for third time

THE Pentland Hills have picked up a top award given to the UK's best green spaces for the third year in a row.

The Pentland Hills Regional Park secured a Green Flag for the third year running.

The prestigious flag scheme recognises and rewards the best green spaces in Britain.

The park is managed through a partnership between the City of Edinburgh Council, Midlothian and West Lothian Councils.

Councillor Colin Keir, chair of the regional park, said: "It is fantastic news that we have won another Green Flag."
