Pensioner is rescued

A PENSIONER had to be rescued from Arthur’s Seat after he suffered head injuries in a fall.

Fire crews used specialist equipment to reach the 72-year-old after he was found bleeding on a path at 5.30pm yesterday. Rescuers spent an hour bringing him down in a stretcher basket before he was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Group commander Tom McGrath said: “He was fully conscious and breathing throughout.”
