Pensioner killed after being hit by lorry on busy Dundee road

A 75 year-old pensioner has been killed after being struck by a lorry on a road near Dundee’s busy Kingsway.

The elderly pedestrian, who has still to be named, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in the city’s Strathmartine Road, close to the butchers business of Scott Brothers.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: “A lorry reversing from a loading bay near Scott Brothers trapped the man against a wall. Sadly he sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.”

He added: “Tayside Police crash investigators are in attendance. Anyone who witnessed the collision take place should get in touch with Tayside Police.”
