Pensioner dies in high-rise flat fire

AN ELDERLY man died yesterday morning in a fire at his 14th-floor flat in Dundee

The pensioner, in his 80s, died when smoke and flames engulfed his home at Adamson Court in the Lochee area of the city shortly after 5:30am.

Twelve other residents in the high-rise block were led to safety by firefighters. One person was treated for smoke inhalation.
