Pensioner assaulted and robbed in Aberdeen street

A PENSIONER was recovering in hospital yesterday after a "cowardly" attack.

The 75-year-old woman was pushed to the ground in Aberdeen's Queen Street by a robber on Saturday afternoon.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said yesterday: "This was a cowardly and nasty attack on a defenceless elderly woman and we are determined to trace the man responsible. We'd appeal for anyone who may have seen anything to pick up the phone and contact us.

"We are also very keen to speak to a couple who helped the woman after the attack and who took her home."

The man being sought is aged between 16 and 20, with brown hair and was possibly wearing a grey jacket.
