Pedestrian struck by lorry taken to hospital in Glasgow

A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital after being hit by a lorry in Glasgow.

The accident happened at 3.25pm on Friday as the 36-year-old was crossing Shettleston Road in the east end of the city.

He was struck by a Mercedes Benz lorry and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as stable. The driver of the lorry was uninjured but was left badly shaken by the incident.

The road was closed for several hours as officers carried out enquiries at the scene.

Police are continuing to review CCTV footage for any additional information on the incident.

Officers have appealed to anyone who was in the area at the time or has dash cam footage to contact them via 101.
