Pedestrian is badly hurt in car collision

A 64-YEAR-OLD woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in Easthouses Road, Mayfield, Dalkeith, yesterday.

The woman sustained head, neck and pelvic injuries in the collision, which occurred at 3.10pm. Her condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Two police officers and two children were also among those injured on the roads yesterday. They were on the A703 near Leadburn on their way to an accident on the Auchencorth Moss road near to Harlaw Muir, Penicuik, when their car came off the road, leaving them with minor injuries.

They had been travelling to a collision between a Saab and a CRV car, in which two children received minor injuries and were taken to the Sick Kids hospital by ambulance.

The male driver of the CRV was cut free from his vehicle and also taken to hospital, although his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
