Pedestrian involved in 'serious crash' near Erskine Bridge

Police officers are currently in attendance at a ‘serious crash’ near to the Erskine bridge on the A82 westbound at Duntocher on Great Western Road with reports that a pedestrian was involved in the crash.

Police Scotland say that at around 5.05pm today, they received reports of a ‘serious crash’ near Erskine Bridge and confirmed that a pedestrian was involved.

Greater Glasgow Police tweeted: “Officers are currently in attendance at a serious crash on #A82.

"The road is currently closed and motorists are asked to seek alternative routes. Diversions are in place. Thank you for your patience.”

Traffic Scotland stated that the crash happened on Great Western Road just after the Kilbowie roundabout.

The A82 westbound and northbound near Kilpatrick School is closed due to the serious road traffic collision.

There is heavy traffic on approach and motorists are urged to use an alternative route.

The Scottish Ambulance service has been contacted for comment.
