Pedaller will do her bit for breast cancer

A WOMAN whose mother died of breast cancer is to take part in a fundraising cycle for the disease.

Heather Sutherland, who works at Stevenson College, will be one of hundreds women to take part in the Pedal it Pink event in Holyrood Park on 16 May.

Her mother Isobell passed away at the age of 57 in 1983. This event raises cash for the Breast Cancer Campaign.

She said: "My mother died from breast cancer almost 30 years ago and I know that both me and my daughter have a higher risk factor due to this.

"In addition I have friends and family who, more recently, survived breast cancer which is no doubt due to research made possible by fundraising efforts, so I need to do my bit to help raise money to fund research for a cure for all of us."
