Payment is on the cards

Lloyds TSB has extended the launch of contactless payments on its Visa debit cards to current account customers in and around Edinburgh.

Any new or replacement Visa debit cards issued will enable customers to pay for purchases up to 15 using contactless technology. Contactless payments do not normally require a PIN number and the card is held close to a reader at the store, rather than inserting it into a terminal.

Jatin Patel, director of personal current accounts at Lloyds TSB, said: "Contactless cards provide an efficient alternative for customers."
