Paying for hotel extras sure to spoil stay

AN ADDITIONAL charge for Wi-Fi is the most annoying "extra" for hotel customers, a survey has revealed.

More than three in four resent Wi-Fi charges and believe they should get it free.

The next most-unacceptable charge was car parking, with 73 per cent annoyed at having to fork out for it.

Other annoying charges were found to be bottled water, paying for a morning newspaper and paying for towels at the gym.

The poll of 1,815 travellers for the Hotels.com website found as many as 56 per cent of guests question bills at check-out time.

Hotels.com communications director Alison Couper said: "Our research shows UK travellers are becoming increasingly savvy at making their holiday money go further and hotel extras can really add up."
