Pawnbroker continues to expand with new city unit

A PAWNBROKER chain has continued its expansion with a new unit in the Capital.

Ramsdens, which is part of an industry that has thrived during the credit crunch, has agreed a deal to open a new shop on Dalry Road.

It has taken a 10-year lease on the unit, at 110A Dalry Road, which is owned by Peatallen, and will become Ramsdens' second store in Edinburgh.

The firm is also looking for a third site in the Capital.

Will Biggart, surveyor at Ryden, the property firm that represented Peatallen, said: "To secure a national firm with stores throughout the country is an excellent result for Dalry Road and the landlord."

Tom Forster at EYCO, which represented Ramsdens, said: "This acquisition shows Ramsdens' continued commitment to expanding their Scottish portfolio of branches. They are performing extremely well in the current retail market."
