Passenger had machete

TWO men were caught carrying drugs, a machete and a stun gun on a train between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

A passenger became suspicious about John Worthington and Adrian Clark, and told the conductor. When the train arrived at Haymarket, Worthington, 32, told officers he had a small amount of cannabis for personal use. The men, both of Dalry in Ayrshire, had a bag and a suitcase and when these were searched a large machete and a stun gun were found.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court, Worthington pled guilty to possession of the machete and the cannabis and Adrian Clark, 32, admitted having the stun gun. Clark was jailed for 32 months and Worthington for 26.
