Parkers prefer the New Town

CAR parking bays in the New Town are busier than those in any other part of the city, new research has revealed.

Essential Edinburgh found that, across the city in August and September, parking spaces were used an average of 41.2 per cent of the time. But in the New Town the figure was much higher, at 56 per cent.

The longest average length of stay was in the East End, where car owners parked for an average of one hour and 39 minutes.
