Parents win funds boost

PARENTS with young children will benefit from a £157,000 funding boost for a successful local project.

First Step, based in Musselburgh, has received the cash from East Lothian Council's Community Wellbeing Partnership to work with local families.

Other organisations to benefit include local rugby and football clubs, bowling and swimming initiatives and arts projects.

Councillor Paul McLennan, the council's community servcies leader, said: "More than 60 individual grants have been made."
