Parents hail baby doctor

A DOCTOR who headed a team that helped save the life of a baby born after only 23 weeks in the womb has been nominated by her parents for a Scottish Health Award.

Vicky Smith and Graham Haggarty, from Bathgate, described Dr Ian Laing and his team at the Simpson Centre, at the ERI, as “fantastic” during the birth in 2010 and the months that followed.

They said their baby Tiaina would almost certainly have died were it not for their care.
