Parents break law over car insurance

Many parents with children who drive are breaking the law by "fronting" on their car insurance to cut costs.

Research from website Moneysupermarket.com found one in ten motoring families had insured their child's car in their own name and added their offspring as a second named driver to save money - a practice known as fronting.

More than half did not realise it was illegal.
