Parent raises £2100 for daughters' school

A PARENT who cycled 500 miles to help raise funds for his daughters' school has collected more than £2100.

Graeme Bruce cycled all the way from Edinburgh to Paris to gain enough sponsorship to buy a new interactive whiteboard for Balerno High School, which his daughters Annabel and Claudia both attend.

The father-of-three completed the challenge in September and raised a total of 2147.

The money is enough to pay for a new white board for the school and its installation.

Mr Bruce, 47, decided he wanted to do something to help Balerno High and asked the parent council what it needed most and was told the school would benefit from a new whiteboard.

Mr Bruce said: "Although I've been helping raise money for Malawi for the past three years I thought it was about time I did something for our local high school."
