Paper fire at nuclear plant

STAFF at a nuclear power station in Dunbar tackled a small fire that broke out in the plant yesterday.

A small blaze erupted in the turbine hall of Torness Nuclear Power Station, in East Lothian, after some paper caught light.

The fire sparked at around 1pm and was extinguished before crews from Dunbar fire station could arrive on scene.

It is understood that the fire broke out in an area of the station not concerned with radiation.
