Panel members wanted to 'fix crack' in children's lives

A CAMPAIGN to "help fix the crack in a child's life" has been launched.

Children's minister Adam Ingram kicked off the campaign in the Capital yesterday to recruit new Children's Panel members. The campaign, which runs until October 1, aims to generate more than 400 successful applications.

Mr Ingram said: "Scotland's unique system remains the best way of providing support and assistance to our children and young people in need or at risk.

"But we're maintaining the vital role of panel members, who are best placed to make decisions for children and young people.

"Members don't need specialist skills, simply commitment, and the capacity to care about, and communicate with, children and families.

"Interest remains high but we still need members of our communities to volunteer.

"Today's campaign launch seeks to galvanise new people into taking part."
