Pakistan: Suicide blast leaves 17 soldiers dead

A SUICIDE bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a mosque in north-west Pakistan yesterday, killing 17 paramilitary soldiers and policemen, police said.

The mosque, which was heavily damaged, is next to a police station in Bannu, a town bordering North Waziristan, a known hub for militants.
