Pair think outside box for charity

EMILY McLean and Rebecca Irwin were among the youngsters who spent the night under the stars for the Big Sleepout to raise cash for homeless people in Edinburgh.

The Bethany Christian Trust fundraiser was held in the courtyard of the City Chambers, with the proceeds going to the charity's support of people forced to live on the streets.

Friends and family of those who took part sponsored them to swap their bed for a cardboard box for the night.

Friday's event marked the tenth anniversary. Last March the sleepout raised more than 30,000, with the charity aiming to beat that figure this year.
