Pair attacked on way home

A MAN and a woman were punched in the face as they walked home after a night out.

They assault happened in Earl Grey Street, Edinburgh, at about 3am on Sunday.

The woman, 24, was punched in the face by another woman, described by police as "heavily bronzed" and wearing a lot of make-up and fake eyelashes.

A second female and a man joined in the assault and kicked the victim when she fell to the ground. The 24-year-old man she was with tried to intervene, but he was punched in the face and suffered a broken jaw. Both victims were taken to hospital and the woman was treated for bruising to her jaw, arms and legs.

The second female suspect was 18 or 19, about 5ft 4in, with short strawberry blonde hair, glasses and a lot of make-up. Police are appealing for witnesses.
