Pages from murdered Scarlett's diary missing

CRUCIAL pages from the diary of murdered British teenager Scarlett Keeling which include details of her sex life and drug use are missing a court heard.

A lawyer for one of the men accused of sexually assaulting the 15-year-old, below, and leaving her to die informed the Goa Children's Court he has told the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) the material must be found as soon as possible.

Jos Peter Dsouza, a lawyer for Placido Carvalho also told the court he expected the CBI to file its report on the missing pages by 3 September. He said the information contained on the missing pages was crucial to the trial.

Jos Peter Dsouza said: "Our contention is that pages are missing. The diary is not in the condition it was in when it was first brought on record. We believe some pages are missing. Why? We want to hear the CBI's answer on this before we can comment further."

Scarlett was found dead at Anjuna beach, a beach in north Goa in February 2008. Two beach shack workers Samson D'Souza, 28, and Placido Carvalho, 36, were later arrested and face charges of culpable homicide, sexual assault and destroying evidence.
