Owner hurt in chip shop fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a blaze at a chip shop in West Lothian.

The fire broke out yesterday at Tony's Fish Bar, in East Main Street, Whitburn, at around noon. It is understood the fire started in a deep fat fryer.

The owner of the shop, 56, was treated for smoke inhalation and a cut to his right hand at the scene. The shop suffered slight smoke damage.
