Over-Seas League to host royal visitor

PRINCESS Alexandra is set to visit the clubhouse of the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) in Princes Street to mark the organisation's centenary celebrations.

ROSL, of which the Princess is vice-patron, is a Commonwealth organisation, founded in 1910, with 18,000 members worldwide and clubhouses in Edinburgh and London.

The organisation, which has 650 members in the Edinburgh area, offers clubhouse facilities and supports the Commonwealth through social, music, arts and welfare activities.

Her Royal Highness is set to be welcomed on her visit on Friday by Lord Provost George Grubb, ROSL Edinburgh branch chairman Bill Chalmers, and house manager Alan Chalmers. James Wilkie, ROSL Scotland development officer said: "ROSL is delighted to welcome Princess Alexandra to its Edinburgh clubhouse, and particularly in this, our centenary year."
