Osborne to reveal first details of public cuts

CHANCELLOR George Osborne will today set out details of the new coalition's first £6 billion of public spending cuts to be made this year.

Whitehall travel, IT projects, quangos, outside consultants, and Civil Service recruitment will be hit as Mr Osborne and Treasury Chief Secretary David Laws make inroads into the UK's 156 billion deficit.
