Organisations learn how to deal with emergencies

CITY organisations are taking part in a series of events this week to learn how to cope with a major emergency in the Capital.

Scenarios include terrorism, swine flu and data security and involve the co-operation of businesses, public agencies and the voluntary sector.

The four-day programme of events is organised by Lothian and Borders Police, the city council and Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.

Superintendent Donald MacKinnon said: "We are continuously working to keep our communities secure."
