Consequently, the 14 ships, 18 planes and other equipment transferred to Scotland will need to be replaced at a significant cost to the rest of the UK.
There are also the costs of civil service staff relocation and possibly redundancies in practically every area of UK central government operating in Scotland.
After independence, the best that Scotland could hope for from the rest of the UK is an attitude of – “you wanted independence, you got it, get on with it.
“Don’t bother us or expect anything from us, you’re on your own.”
