Wrong target

I NOTE in Mr Robins letter, 30 May the stereotypical response of demonising airguns and those who use them.

I have shot for over 45 years and have never felt compelled to shoot birds in the garden or my neighbour’s cat. More people are injured every drunken Friday night than have been injured in the last decade with airguns.

In the last decade airgun crime has declined by 62 per cent. In comparison the recent knife crack down in Glasgow is thought to have stopped more than 250 incidents in a single month trial.
