Wrong path

The transport minister Keith Brown misled MSPs in last week’s cycling debate. Responding to a Greens’ motion calling for better infrastructure for cyclists on all road projects, he claimed that the Forth replacement crossing would provide this… even though it won’t have a cycle path.

He even tried to argue that the old bridge, which his party claims is becoming unsafe, would somehow improve cycle facilities. How can a government in 2012 build a new road bridge without a footway or cycle path?
