Wrong decision

So BISHOP Mark Strange has come out in favour of gay marriage (your report, 24 June), stating his personal experience has led him to this belief.

In doing so, he recognises that he and his fellow bishops have decided to enshrine this in the Scottish Episcopal Church Canon Law without the consent of the majority of members.

This same issue has led to division in the Episcopal Church of the United States and Canada.

For those of us members in the Scottish Episcopal Church, this has to be seen as nothing short of a betrayal of trust and is a mistake for the Church that had so much going for it.

I hope they are proud of themselves.
