Wrecking crew

Irvine Inglis (Letters, 9 October) makes a good point about the attitude of the Scottish workforce and its unions.

After trying to establish a £40 million electronic component factory in Dundee, Ford gave up because of inter-union squabbling over which union should predominate, and went to Spain.

The director of engineering of Ford Europe summed it all up by saying: “The Scotch (sic) are just not commercially minded.”
