Peter Jones (Perspective, 23 September) states: “The truly astonishing thing about R-day was not the result but the degree of participation.” He is correct.

However, there is something else which is truly astonishing. The No campaigners have won and days after Scotland has made its decision and voters have cast their vote they are still writing their “manifesto”.

Astonishingly, we are told they are still working on it. Food for thought indeed!
