Without a Kerr

Alison’s Kerr’s review (27 July) of the Jazz Festival’s Jools Holland concert couldn’t be more wrong. Along with 1,800 others I enjoyed the spectacular show performed by brilliant musicians and singers, it was absolutely fantastic.

Kerr’s remarks about Jools and his family were out of order, in my opinion.

Jools is to be commended for encouraging and showcasing new young talent, combining them with more experienced artists.

I attended a further 15 Jazz Festival concerts at the Tron, St Andrews and George Square spiegeltent as well as the Festival Theatre. I experienced outstanding organisation listening to the world’s best. Edinburgh has something unique and wonderful in your Jazz Festival, it’s a pity Kerr cannot recognise this. She probably takes vinegar with her cornflakes.
