What a waste

The debate about charging for plastic bags (Letters, 1 July) has so far avoided the point that we are expected to pre-wrap waste before disposing of it in wheelie and food waste recycling bins.

Most people use super- market bags for this.

The net usage of packaging materials entering the waste process is likely to be virtually the same, is it not?
