Weasel words

If it looks like a weasel, acts like a weasel and makes a lot of contradictory noises like a weasel, it must be a sincere politician!

Only the most gullible are likely to be persuaded by the words of Douglas Alexander, proponent of the Calman Commission, promising further tax powers for Scotland if 
independence is rejected in the forthcoming referendum (your report, 1 March).

Those who genuinely wish Scotland to take more control over its own destiny, as well as to assume the responsibilities that come with increased powers, have only one choice.
