Waterworks plan

Shirley Seaton (Letters, 28 December) suggests that micro-hydro-electric schemes should be considered, given the current objections to wind farms.

Perhaps the River Esk in Musselburgh could be considered, with the necessary weir already in place, left over from the days of paper mills there.
