While the prospect of Prestwick becoming a spaceport is exotically endearing, the Smith reforms may permit the start of a boring but useful revolution.

If airlines were allowed to land at two consecutive airports without penalty we might see triangular routes between, say, Southampton, Prestwick and Edinburgh 
allowing greater frequencies between the distant destinations with better internal connectivity for Scotland.

Better services for commuters and holidaymakers are probably a better bet than glorified missile bases for millionaires.
