Voting rights

Mary Archibald (Letters, 5 June) is sadly mistaken in requesting a vote in the referendum.

It is, and has always been, very simple. Those who are entitled to vote in the referendum (as in any election) are those who are resident here (regardless of place of birth) and on the voters’ roll.

They are the ones who have a stake in Scotland’s future.

Mary, if you love Scotland so much, come back and live here. You will be welcome, along with those from all over the world who have made Scotland their home.
