Voters ignored

Fergus Ewing, the Scottish energy minister, has said in respect of fracking in Scotland that the Scottish Government would set up a working group to consider the matter and ensure regulation of the industry was robust.

He is quoted as saying: “The views of local communities are of prime importance to us and they will have an opportunity to feed their views and concerns to this group”.

Planning committees, community councils and local interest groups all over Scotland whose views have been consistently ignored and who have been run roughshod over by this government will take Fergus Ewing’s utterances with a huge pinch of salt.

This is the least consultative and listening government we have ever had.
