I AM always perturbed by letters like the one from Andrew Collins (10 March) stating that “the SNP dominates Holyrood because its policies chime with the majority of Scots”.

The SNP dominates Holyrood because its core vote of about 25 per cent always turns out to vote, and the rest of us didn’t. A turnout of 50 per cent sees it dominate.
The SNP does not speak for us Scots – witness the opinion polls in the referendum.
