Unable to engage in rational debate

THE recent comments from the Archbishop of Glasgow about the late David Cairns MP, followed by the childish Cardinal Keith O’Brien’s dramatic cessation of talks with the Scottish Government on the issue of equal marriage shows only one thing – that the Catholic Church are unable to engage in rational secular political debate, and at the first sign of trouble play the ace card: “I’m right because I’m religious”.

I look forward to a time where the audacious views of the vocal few are treated as such, and the largely rational voices of the majority are able to be heard through the background noise of the religious fanatics.
