Turn off

With only two days done in the five weeks of infinitely boring news updates leading up to the General Election, I am making plans to go to an uninhabited island off the West Coast of Scotland with no radio, television, or mobile phone signal.

There is a considerable risk of turning off the electorate by the constant and unrelentless pounding of repeated political updates from the media, forcing voters to seek alternative viewing and listening.
